Letter to the editor: Biden's expensive plans
Joe Biden’s proposed spending is estimated to cost an additional $5.4 trillion. It includes two years of free community college, college loan forgiveness, and $1.6 trillion for infrastructure and research and development for clean energy.
According to Wharton’s analysis of Biden’s tax plan, it will cover only $3.4 trillion of the increase. Although he says the tax increases will be paid only by households that make $400,000 a year, it will cover only 80% of the total. The remaining 20% will be covered by everyone else. In addition, everyone will pay more for goods and services due to increased corporate taxes.
Biden’s plan for covid-19 is to issue a mask mandate, promote social distancing, provide sufficient personal protective equipment and put together an elite medical team to develop a vaccine and implement a plan. Isn’t that what is now being done? Biden later found out a president cannot mandate mask wearing, only the states can.
Biden’s six-member medical team has Ezekiel Emanuel as lead, who considers people over 75 not worth saving (he wrote “Why I Hope to Die at 75”).
Before winning the nomination, Biden said he would ban fracking. Now he has changed his tune in order to win Pennsylvania
Biden voted twice to make Social Security income taxable.
Biden dropped out of the 1988 presidential race after plagiarizing speeches and lying about his law school record.
Biden says he doesn’t want to defund the police, rather “redirect funding” away from police.
Biden was wrong on Trump not denouncing racism.
Biden helped “reset” relations with Russia, toasted China and probably would continue to go soft on them.
