Letter to the editor: Biden at the border
Finally, President Biden went to visit the southern border. It only took two years, but I know he’s been busy causing other problems and taking vacations.
And in typical Biden and Democratic Party fashion, he attempts to falsely blame others for the crisis that he has helped create. Caravans of migrants began streaming north as soon as they heard Biden was elected president, some sporting “Biden, Please Let Us In” T-shirts given to them in Mexico.
And, of course, no mention by Biden of the estimated number of migrants who entered the U.S. illegally or the more than half who never showed up at their asylum hearings once they were in the U.S. Also, the pain and suffering caused by human trafficking and hundreds of thousands of deaths from fentanyl being smuggled from Mexico seem inconsequential to Biden.
The only reason Biden is now concerned about this “situation,” as he describes it, is because it has become untenable, even for some Democrats. Even the usually protective mainstream media is being forced to report some of the truths.
Thank the governors of border states who have forced Biden’s hand by busing migrants to northern U.S. cities. Otherwise, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas would still be falsely claiming that the southern border is secure.
Unfortunately, the millions of migrants who have entered the U.S. looking for a better life are going to run into another problem Biden has helped create, an economy that is headed for a deep recession.
