Letter to the editor: Be a leader, not a sheep

Tribune-Review

As long as we have people behaving like sheep in a group, with no minds of their own, following the leader and not questioning anything, we will always be divided. Neither Democrats nor Republicans are always right. We were born with brains — we need to use them. How can we ever fix our problems if we continue to fight and waste money?

The Mueller report took two years to finish, and some people will never be satisfied with the results because they didn’t turn out the way they wanted them.

Our country has problems with immigration, drugs, homelessness, violence, Social Security and people who would rather leech off the government than work.

We can’t take every person in the world into our country. Instead of fighting the drug problem, we now legalize some of it so the government can tax it. Our homeless population grows larger every day. Violence is everywhere, with no end in sight. Instead of making healthy people work, we make working people keep them.

To try to help our children, we give them extra points on their SAT scores. Our education system is overpriced and broken. We are not helping our students. It only makes our education system look better.

A great man once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Don’t be a sheep and follow; use your brain and lead. Our country needs to be united, not divided.
