Letter to the editor: Barnette best for Pa. Senate

Chameleons change the color of their skin to suit their surroundings. It’s no surprise Pennsylvania Republicans scratched their heads when Donald Trump endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz for Senate. The collective gasp heard was “Dr/Who?” David McCormick in similar fashion attempts to “spice up” his street cred by covering himself with black leather and Trump flags. Do they really believe Pennsylvanians are this stupid?

Thankfully, only Democrats are still stuck on Trump. Conservatives don’t need his endorsement. They have clear vision and aren’t falling for his ill- advised attempt to seem relevant. Big money does, so follow it. Bloomberg recently reported that McCormick collected over $220,000 in maxed-out contributions from more than 60 Goldman Sachs execs. Why are New Yorkers so eager to elect him? Who will he really represent? Not Pennsylvanians.

Don’t be fooled. Don’t waste your vote or your money, and don’t waste yard space with their signs. Send them packing, back to their home states on the flying carpets they rode in on. Elect Kathy Barnette as the next senator from Pennsylvania.

Kathy is a warm-hearted candidate with genuine conservative values. Kathy needs all of our support and will put Pennsylvania first. Rest assured that Kathy has no intention of changing the color of her skin for anyone.
