Letter to the editor: Aren't we one nation under God?

Tribune-Review

Thomas Jefferson: “I, however place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and Public Debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.”

John Adams: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. “

George Washington’s farewell address: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”

Today, a small congressonal majority considers:

• Trillions more public debt

• Packing the Supreme Court

• Nationalizing elections

• D.C. statehood

• Equality Act adding sexual orientation and gender identification to the Civil Rights Act of 1964

The majority also overrides the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and similar state laws. Faith-based organizational hiring is impacted. Biblical teaching in churches, synagogues, colleges and universities is in the legal crosshairs. Teaching in public schools, even elementary levels, is indoctrinating our kids. Biblical creation is dismissed. They want to allow biological men in women’s locker rooms, bathrooms and sports, and are changing the way we use pronouns to describe each other.

Where is the “equality” for Americans living by God’s biblical principals? We are “one nation under God.”
