Letter to the editor: Are we ignoring the deterioration of Pittsburgh's bridges?
Who is responsible for the deterioration of bridges in Pittsburgh? Is anyone taking responsibility for their maintenance? Is anyone in authority reading the inspection reports? This needs to be addressed and corrected. It is a public safety issue that is being ignored.
Thank God lives have not been lost. Money and funding should not be an issue. Money for bike lanes and hillside stairs is always found. Now the George Anderson and Swinburne bridges are being rerouted; that is an issue that should have been addressed years ago. But I guess those inspections are shoved in some drawer.
