Letter to the editor: America at a crossroads
America is at a crossroads that will determine her future for better or worse. Currently, it is for the worse, as socialists seem to have the upper hand instituting critical race theory, cancel culture, etc. These convictions have great influence indoctrinating students to their style of thinking and stifling the other side’s views so that the vast majority think the same in lockstep. Antifa and Black Lives Matter organizations help perpetuate this in conjunction with the high-tech companies (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
An analogy to cancel culture would be the violent cultural revolution in China (1966-76) headed by Mao Zedong. He eliminated knowledge of much of China’s past by purging historical and cultural material, remnants of capitalism and traditional elements from society. Do you see the commonality in both societies?
I recently listened to two Asian Americans being interviewed, one Chinese and the other North Korean. They both said they escaped dictatorships to come to America only to find out that the same changes are taking place here.
The latest U.S. debacle is policies on illegal aliens abrogated by the new president. Construction of the border wall was stopped. The agreement with Mexico to keep would-be immigrants on their side of the border until processed was eliminated; it is estimated that 2 million of them will cross the border by the end of the year. Taxpayers pay for health benefits, education, welfare, housing and more for many illegals.
Americans are being relegated to second-class citizens all because the elites want their votes and cheap labor.
