Letter to the editor: Abortion & overpopulation
Regarding Al Duerig’s letter “Overpopulation will destroy earth” (Feb. 27, TribLIVE): You really helped to open our eyes to the mindset of the many millions who support abortion. If overpopulation is truly a concern, I assume you don’t have any children, or are hopeful that you won’t become a grandfather.
I have yet to hear about a single person concerned about overpopulation who has personally volunteered to depopulate the planet. I certainly hope you’re not an advocate of suicide, and I pray that you do not volunteer. Your life, and all human life, is far too valuable.
God, the creator of life, has it all under control. His son will return to the earth with perfect timing, with perfect love, and his desire is that not even one will perish. He is pro-life and pro-eternal life.
As for unwanted babies, there is no such thing. There are millions of families that cannot have children who choose adoption. Now that’s pro-choice.
It’s hard to fathom how many of the Democratic candidates feel they will gain popularity by supporting abortion. I assume these candidates can count on your support as well. My eyes have been opened, and my heart is broken.
