Letter to the editor: A conversation for the nation

Tribune-Review

It’s what I said, it’s what I meant,

I do not like the president.

Listen, listen and you may,

Listen and you may, I say.

Would you like him here or there?

I would not like him anywhere.

I don’t care what you insist,

I’ll continue to resist.

Is there one good thing he’s done?

Maybe I could think of one.

He’s tampered down the Mideast crisis,

Lessened the appeal of ISIS.

Can you think of number two?

That is something I can do.

Tax crumbs I got will take me far,

Family vacation in my car.

Can you think of number three?

I know what you’re doing to me,

But I still cannot agree.

This is what I have in mind:

Disagree but still be kind.

Use your heart, also your head.

This country is not blue or red,

But a swatch of rainbow hues,

from which you are free to choose.

We all know you have a choice,

But you’ve listened to my voice.

I have heard you too, my friend;

We’ll be buddies ’til the end.

If he doesn’t float your boat,

What you need to do is vote.
