The parents of a 2-year-old girl were horrified after their daughter found a used condom in the eating area of a McDonald’s in Australia.

Fox News reports the girl ended up putting the condom in her mouth, much to the disgust of her parents.

It was Friday when the family had gone to eat at the fast-food restaurant in Warnbro, a suburb of Perth.

“I went back up to the counter to order something and my daughter was with my husband,” the mother, known only as Wendy, told 10daily.com. “I don’t know how it happened but when my husband next looks at her, she’s sucking on a black condom.”

The mother grabbed the condom off the girl and returned to the counter and threw it down for the staff to see.

“I ran into the bathrooms, washed her mouth and hands and came out and gave her a drink. We were terrified,” she told 10daily. “I am really angry and sickened … I haven’t slept. I have been feeling overwhelmingly guilty for taking her there in the first place.”

Fox News reports the girl will undergo STD testing.

The parents reportedly consulted their doctor, who told them to return to the restaurant and retrieve the condom — which the mother told 10daily appeared to have been used — for testing.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s told 10 daily they were “very sorry” over the situtaion. “We are conducting an investigation into how this happened,” the spokesperson told 10daily.

“Cleanliness and safety are our top priorities and we ensure the shift manager on duty conducts what we refer to as a travel path every 30 minutes.”
