She wanted a Mariah Carey cake and got Marie Curie instead
Call it a case of mis-cake-n identity.
A woman in England, named Siobhan, told her co-workers that, for her birthday, she would like a cake with the likeness of one of her favorite singers: Mariah Carey.
However, what she was presented with was not the woman who’s been awarded a Grammy, but the woman who was awarded a Nobel.
See, the baker made a Marie Curie cake instead.

We must admit the French physicist does look quite festive.
Even Ms. Carey herself was impressed.
This could've been me if only I hadn't failed remedial math ?♀️ happy birthday Siobhan!! ? https://t.co/Ffz69lTRkc

We gotta say, Carey should be quite honored to be mistaken for the first woman to win a Nobel (and still the only woman to do it twice).
It seems like the gaffe was intentional, as a fun prank on Siobhan by her co-workers at the HOPE for Chronic Conditions. And Siobhan took it in good spirits.

Lye’s tweet has generated well north of 200,000 likes and more than 43,000 retweets. And the responses have been wonderful.
this cake deserves two Nobel prizes in different fields

Checking the replies to make sure no one beat me to the “she looks radiant!” reply.

All we can say is, “Happy birthday, Siobhan.”
