In this March 13 file photo, lobsters await shipping at a wholesale distributer in Arundel, Maine.

A blue lobster was saved from a diner’s plate and now resides comfortably at a new home at an Ohio zoo.

The rare crustacean was spotted in the live lobster delivery by employees at the Red Lobster restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

The staff contacted the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California, which runs a conservation partnership called Seafood Watch.

The aquarium connected the restaurant with the Akron Zoo, which was able to quickly prepare a home for the lobster. The zoo shared the story Sunday on Facebook.

The zoo and Red Lobster are part of the Seafood Watch program.

The staff named the lobster Clawde after the restaurant mascot. The zoo posted on Facebook that Clawde is acclimating to his new home in a special tank that has been dubbed “Clawde’s Man Cave.” Unfortunately the man cave is in a building that is currently closed to guests due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Blue lobsters are very rare, occurring one in every 2 million, according to the zoo.
