No Powerball winner — jackpot climbs to $700M
With no one matching all six numbers in Monday night’s Powerball drawing, the jackpot has climbed to $700 million. That would make it the fifth largest Powerball pot of all time and the eighth-largest lottery jackpot ever.
Before Monday’s drawing, the jackpot had grown to $625 million, but no one had the correct combination of 23, 45, 54, 35, 18 Powerball: 16.
It’s no wonder, the odds of picking all six digits are incredible — one in 292.2 million.
The next drawing will be at 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The $700 million only is there for those who opt for the annuity option, paid out annually over 29 years. Winners often go for a cash payout, which for Wednesday’s drawing would be about $335.7 million — before taxes.
The largest-ever lottery jackpot was a $1.586 billion Powerball prize that three ticket holders won in 2016.
The Powerball jackpot hasn’t been won since Aug. 3, when the winning ticket was sold at the Sheetz on North Center Avenue in New Stanton. That winner has not to been publicly identified.
