Anyone old enough to remember TV in the 1970s surely recalls the giant red drink pitcher that crashed through walls with the whopping exclamation, “Oh Yeah.”

The Kool-Aid Man, the anthropomorphic mascot for the powdered drink mix, smashed his way through fences, furniture and outfield walls to answer the calls of thirsty children.

Teens are mimicking the pop culture icon’s actions with the latest TikTok challenge — but it’s landing them in hot water.

Five juveniles and an adult were arrested Tuesday in New York for damaging fences as part of the “Kool-Aid Man” challenge.

Surveillance cameras caught the group running through the fence simultaneously and police determined the vandalism was part of the newest online challenge.

The homeowner told police it was about 4 a.m. when he heard something that “sounded like a gun go off.” He ran outside to find several sections of his fence missing.

The suspects were charged with criminal mischief.
