Illinois State Police say driver caught going 115 mph in the snow ‘ridiculous’
The Illinois State Police posted a photo of a speeding ticket along with some words of warning to Facebook on Monday.
The post starts with the alleged offense: 115 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Then goes on to warn other speeders and concerned citizens:
“If you think we don’t patrol in town, you’re mistaken. And if you think you won’t get in a bad crash in town because the speed limits are low and you’re a good driver, think again. Just remember there are people like this driving next to you.”
And end with a hashtag: #Ridiculous.
The woman, who police did not identify, was apparently pulled over Sunday evening in Champaign, according to WMAQ-TV.
She was arrested and jailed by the police, according to another state police comment on the post, which received over 4,000 likes and 1,400 comments, many of which commended the police for stopping the driver and arresting her.
