It didn’t take long for tempers to flare during the first head-to-head debate for the 2020 debate of the general election between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

From the opening moments of the debate, Trump pounced on Biden — whether it was his turn or not — as the pair responded to questions from Fox News host Chris Wallace.

The issue got particularly heated while answering a question about Trump’s pick for Supreme Court justice, Amy Coney Barrett. The debate turned into whether Barrett would attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Trump relentlessly interrupted Biden as he tried to justify his stance on why he thought the country should wait until after the election to select the replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Wallace asked if Democrats would try a filibuster to delay the confirmation of Barrett.

Translation above: “Biden addresses the audience more than Trump, who interrupts even the moderator.”

Biden danced around the question, and Trump demanded he respond.

A visibly rattled and frustrated Biden asks, “Will you shut up, man?!”

Not missing a beat, Trump continued to interject and speak over both Biden and Wallace, exclaiming, “I guess I’m in a debate with you, not him. I’m not surprised.”

This was 15 minutes into the scheduled 90-minute debate.

Shortly after, Trump continued to interrupt Biden, causing Biden to command, “Quit your yappin’!”

As can be expected, that didn’t encourage the president to follow the debate etiquette.
