Snow was found in a wooded area the other day.
And as you could probably ascertain from this headline, it wasn’t the kind of snow predicted by any weather report.
CBS News reports how two backpacks filled with more than $1.1 million worth of cocaine was discovered in Washington state near the border of Canada last Thursday.
The same CBS News report states how the drugs were discovered by agents out on patrol in the area of Lynden. Roughly 30 bricks amounting to about 78 pounds of a white, powdery substance were within.
According to a press release published to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) website, the cocaine was immediately turned over to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
“Thanks to the vigilance of Blaine Sector Border Patrol agents these dangerous narcotics were prevented from reaching our communities,” said Chief Patrol Agent Rosario “Pete” Vasquez via the release.
“Our agents work tirelessly day in and day out to protect this nation, and this seizure highlights that crucial commitment.”
