The Millvale Music Festival starts at 6 p.m. May 19 and 12:10 p.m. on May 20.

The weekend has arrived. Here are some ways to spend it.

Pink walk

The Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk is on Sunday at Schenley Park. The opening ceremony is at 9 a.m. The walk begins at 9:30 a.m. on Panther Hollow Road. It will be a 2.5-mile loop around Schenley Park and the Bob O’Connor Golf Course.

The event helps to raise funds that support breast cancer patients, research and patient navigation services for those impacted by the disease. The Pittsburgh event has raised nearly $250,000 this year.

There is no cost to register.

Music festival

The Millvale Music Festival starts at 6 p.m. Friday and 12:10 p.m. on Saturday. It will feature more than 300 musical acts on 26 stages as well as 60 visual artists and spoken word performers, comedians, food trucks and other entertainment. Some of the musicians are 65 Rats, Bitter Coast, Ferdinand the Bull, Liz Berlin, Madame Marlowe, Neon Witch Parade, Rebel Revolver, Ukulele Mollie and Zach Rovito & The Rustbelt Rhythm.

Some locations are Cousins Lounge, Double L Bar, Grist House, Mr. Smalls Theatre, Element Church and Lumberjaxes. There is a mobile app to follow all of the action.

The event is free.

Filmo

Pittsburgh Sound + Image, an arts nonprofit dedicated to film preservation and exhibition, is hosting Filmo from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Friday at Eberle Studios in Homestead. Filmo is a twist on the bingo game. Attendees receive a Filmo card. There are squares with titles of a short-short 16mm film in each block from 75 options.

A film title will be drawn and the movie will be played.

As audience members check off their squares and get F-I-L-M-O, similar to B-I-N-G-O, winners get to choose the next film.

The event will also mark the 100th anniversary of 16mm film and Sound + Image’s first year of programming.

Tickets are $15.

Day of Remembrance

On Saturday there will be a day of remembrance called Growing in Peace from noon to 3 p.m. at The Gazebo in Homewood, located at Frankstown Road and North Homewood Avenue. Hosted by the Community Empowerment Association, people are invited to bring flowers to plant to commemorate young lives lost to gun violence.

There will be food and music.

Children’s Festival

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s 37th Annual EQT Children’s Theater Festival is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday throughout the Cultural District and Market Square, Downtown.

There will be more than 50 activities and performances.

Pop-up shows include musicians, magicians, storytellers and street artists as well as arts-and-crafts stations and creative learning workshops. There will be face-painting, chalk and balloon art, building Lego systems, and playing larger-than-life games.

The Trust Arts Education team will present Story Corners at Trust Oasis featuring “Hair Love,” “Carnival of the Animals” and “Giraffes Can‘t Dance.” The stories will be read by resident teaching artists.

Performing artist Kuniko Yamamoto will be holding Origami Tales workshops at SPACE Gallery.

The Frog Stop Scavenger Hunt returns, where festival-goers can visit key locations and collect stickers and win prizes. There will be food trucks.

Some events are free. Others are $12 per show.
