President Joe Biden expected to visit Pittsburgh next week
President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Pittsburgh next Thursday, Oct. 20.
The stop will precede a reception in Philadelphia for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman that the president is expected to attend, Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported. The station cited information from the White House.
The reason for the president’s trip to Pittsburgh wasn’t clear.
The president recently visited the Pittsburgh area on Labor Day, when he delivered a speech highlighting the importance of labor unions and democracy outside a United Steelworkers hall in West Mifflin.
That private event was attended by labor union members, supporters and elected officials, including Braddock resident Fetterman, who is Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey and U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle.
