Former U.S. President Barack Obama campaigns for Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, left, during a “Get Out the Vote Rally” ahead of the midterm elections, at Renaissance High School in Detroit, on Oct. 29, 2022.

Former President Barack Obama will headline a rally for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman in Schenley Plaza in Oakland on Saturday.

This is the first time Obama has visited Pittsburgh for a political rally in several years.

The program will begin at noon, but attendees can arrive as early as 9 a.m.

Pennsylvanians who want to attend can sign up at the All In Pennsylvania website. Attendees will go through airport-like security. Bags are strongly discouraged, and no outside signs will be permitted at the event.

The Pittsburgh rally will precede another large rally later Saturday in Philadelphia, where President Joe Biden and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro will join Obama and Fetterman.

Former President Donald Trump also will be in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday to headline a rally at Unity’s Arnold Palmer Regional Airport with Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz and Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano.

The race for Pennsylvania’s open U.S. Senate seat is razor-close, with many election forecasters designating the race between Fetterman and Oz as a toss-up.

Election Day is Tuesday.
