Pennsylvania reports 620 new coronavirus cases, 11 deaths

Pennsylvania reported 620 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, as the seven-day case count dropped to 602, the lowest the average has been since July 1.

The state Department of Health reported 11 new deaths, bringing the state total to 7,635.

The new data brings the total cases to 131,156. Officials said 3,726 are considered probable cases.

Allegheny County reported an increase of 61 cases, while Philadelphia County saw an increase of 77 cases.

The department stated that the 151,008 tests were administered within the past seven days from Aug. 20-26 with 4,387 positive cases.

More than 1.6 million people in the state have been tested for the virus. The overall positivity rate is 8.1%.

In Pennsylvania, 5,157 deaths have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

There are 542 patients hospitalized across the state, with 82 on ventilators.

The Department of Health advises that people that if they have or think they have covid-19, they should stay home and keep away from others.
