Pennsylvania reported more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases for the 16th straight day Wednesday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health added 1,425 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 186,297.

For comparison, in the past 16 days, there have been 22,090 new covid-19 cases, while in the 16 days prior to that, there were 15,522 new cases (and only six of those days had totals above 1,000). The state’s longest streak of 1,000+ cases is 18 from April 2-April 19.

According to the state’s covid-19 dashboard, there are currently 966 coronavirus patients hospitalized in the state, an increase of 48 from Tuesday. The state has 4,980 ventilators, with 1,138 currently in use, but only 104 by covid-19 patients.

In the state, Philadelphia had the most new cases with 290, followed by Allegheny (119), Westmoreland (89), Berks (75) and Lancaster (45). Here’s how Southwestern Pennsylvania fared, with total cases and growth from Tuesday:

The state also added 29 deaths, raising the total toll to 8,562. Of those deaths, all occurring in October, with two from Allegheny, one from Armstrong, one from Indiana, two from Washington and two from Westmoreland.
