PennDOT extends expiration dates on driver licenses, ID cards, learner permits
PennDOT has again extended the expiration dates on driver licenses, identification cards and learner permits because of covid-19, the agency announced Friday.
Driver licenses, photo identification cards and learner permits scheduled to expire from March 16 through Aug. 31 have been extended until Aug. 31.
The extensions are in addition to those that had been announced on June 25, PennDOT said.
Camera cards are considered driver licenses and are covered by the extension.
Limited services are available at some PennDOT driver license and permit centers. A list of those that are open, their hours and services available are available online.
Driver and vehicle services are also available online at www.dmv.pa.gov.
Services available online include driver license, photo identification and vehicle registration renewals; driver history services; changes of address; driver license and vehicle registration restoration letters; ability to pay driver license or vehicle insurance restoration fees; driver license and photo identification duplicates; and scheduling a driver’s exam.
There are no additional fees for using online services.
