Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro has started an email tip line for consumers to report suspected instances of price-gouging across the state.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says his email tip line has received more than 200 complaints of price gouging by stores around the state as consumers scramble to buy supplies while coronavirus continues to spread.

More than 100 complaints of suspect gouging reached Shapiro’s office in the first two days of the email being set up, PennLive reported.

In an interview Friday with KYW Newsradio in Philadelphia, Shapiro said his office had received 264 price-gouging complaints, mainly on cleaning supplies but also on items such as bottled water, rice and flour.

Shapiro’s office has been analyzing cases and issuing cease and desist letters where it deems necessary.

To report suspected price-gouging, consumers can email pricegouging@attorneygeneral.gov.
