Hersheypark posted on social media that the Wildcat, a wooden coaster that opened in 1996, will shut down at the end of the month.

If you want to take one last spin on the Wildcat, you have until July 31.

Hersheypark has announced via their Twitter page that the wooden coaster, which opened in 1996, will be shutting down at the end of the month.

“Wildcat will close Sunday, July 31 so be sure to visit this month for one final ride,” the post said. “Any suggestions on what we could do with 3,100 feet of wooden track?”

Wildcat was named in honor of Hersheypark’s first roller coaster, which was added to the park in 1923.

Details have not yet been announced on what will be coming to take Wildcat’s place, but plans are expected to be revealed before the end of this year, according to Hershey Entertainment & Resorts officials.
