Gisele Fetterman dressed in Carnival costume creates testy debate
A bit of a storm brewed across the Keystone State earlier this week — courtesy of Twitter — after Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman tweeted a photo of his wife, Gisele, suited-and-booted (not really) in a Carnival costume.
“Waiting on confirmation from our PA Historian, gonna go out on a limb, that @giselefetterman is the 1st, Second Lady, Carnaval do Brasil dancer for Pennsylvania,” Fetterman tweeted along with a photo of Gisele clad in a shimmering costume, complete with sparkling headgear, peacock feathers, a semi-exposed midriff and an unabated vantage of cleavage.

Gisele Fetterman, a native of Brazil, reportedly posed for the photo in Pittsburgh on Monday in preparations for upcoming Carnival events in the city. Carnival is a huge celebration in Brazil that is known for its optics of bright costumes, parades and wild partying.
According to PennLIVE, Jason Lindemuth replied to Fetterman’s tweet within minutes, writing: “Exhale folks…confirmation received. Mrs. Fetterman is in fact the first 2nd lady to be a Canaval Dancer. Thank you the Fettermans for this effort in Making PA Great,” and added an eye roll emoji for good measure.
Lindemuth received prompt clapbacks from tweeters who discovered he is a Dauphin County Republican Committee member and inspector of elections for Harrisburg’s 14th Ward, PennLIVE reported.
Some who responded weren’t shy about reminding him that First Lady Melania Trump once posed nude — and is believed to be the only first lady to have done so.
In his wife’s corner, Fetterman replied, “Hey @J_TheRepublican @giselefetterman does make ‘PA Great’. In fact, she’s distributing food and clothing at @freestore15104 to those in need, literally right now, as I type this.”
Lindemuth sought to clarify his earlier tweet in a reply: “Oh my no… not shaming or objectifying…. apparently this was something of importance that the Lt. felt the need to let us all know…. the air is cleaner, the pot is legal, the jobs are better…. and the 2nd lady is making history…#PaProud right now”

Gisele Fetterman criticized Lindemuth on Twitter.
“Stop trying to shame women,” she replied.
Lindemuth told PennLive that he had not intended to shame Fetterman.
“I just think I got a little too snarky and upset him,” he said. “It’s not about body shaming or that I want women in Amish garb. If she wants to wear a bikini and dance around, hey I am very Libertarian in that way. I don’t care what people do but he put such emphasis on saying this is historic and he had to get the state historian involved. Of all things in Pennsylvania that are great. This is what Pennsylvania is going to be making history for? We didn’t legalize pot, the minimum wage hasn’t done anything. This is what they are making history for?” he told the publication.
Gisele Fetterman said her husband referenced the state historian “in jest,” according to PennLIVE.
