WAYNESBORO — State police say a 13-year-old will face a criminal homicide charge in the shooting death of his 9-year-old brother in a home in central Pennsylvania.
State police in Franklin County said troopers were called to the Waynesboro home at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday. The victim was taken to Waynesboro Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police alleged Wednesday afternoon that a 13-year-old boy who was identified as a sibling of the victim “retrieved a 9mm handgun in the residence and fatally shot the victim.” The youth will face charges including criminal homicide and aggravated assault, police said.
Police haven’t said who owned the weapon, and the names of the boys weren’t immediately released.
