There were 35 new covid-19 deaths and 618 additional cases reported in the state by the Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday.

The statewide total is now 86,606 cases and 6,649 deaths, with 633 patients considered probable cases.

According to the Department of Health, the most severe cases are seen in patients over the age of 65. More than half of the cases in Pennsylvania are people age 50 or older.

There have been 17,735 cases in residents, 3,261 cases in employees and 4,539 deaths in nursing and personal care homes alone. These deaths account for 68.3% of the state’s deaths. The state reported 692 nursing facilities have been affected by the virus.

Health care workers account for 6,569 coronavirus cases.

About 78% of people have recovered from the virus; 677,581 people tested negative for the virus statewide.

In Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan, all but one of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties are in the green phase. Lebanon County, near Harrisburg, is scheduled to move to green on July 3.
