TikTok star, ‘Club Rat’ creator dies at age 29

TikTok star Eva Evans, who created and starred in the Amazon Prime series “Club Rat” and was known for her videos about life in New York City, has died. She was 29.

Evans’ sister Lila announced the news on Sunday in an Instagram post.

“Yesterday my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died,” she wrote. “After 24 hours, I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be.”

“I wish I had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what I don’t,” she continued. “I am keeping this brief, so we can plan for the next few days, but you’ll be hearing a lot more from me on how much Eva means to me and just how different the world will be without her.”

Evans had over 300,000 TikTok followers and her videos, which offered advice and humor about living as a twentysomething woman in the Big Apple, have been liked more than 13 million times.

She also created and starred in the five-episode Amazon Prime series “Club Rat,” about a popular influencer who attempts to re-enter the dating scene after a video of her ugly breakup with her boyfriend goes viral.

Actress Julia Fox (“Uncut Gems”) also took to Instagram to express her sorrow at Evans’ passing, saying in a video that, “I always saw her like a little sister and I knew she looked up to me,” She was so young. Still had so much to do in life. But she lived life to the fullest.”

Eva is survived by her sisters Lila, Zoe and Sofi, and her mother Heather, E! News said.

Evans’ death comes a week after popular TikTok influencer Kyle Marisa Roth, known for her Hollywood gossip videos, died.
