Hampton High School has been ranked 15th out of 676 high schools in Pennsylvania in the 2022 Best High Schools rankings released April 26 by U.S. News & World Report.

The high school also ranked fourth in the Pittsburgh region out of 132 high schools. In this year’s rankings, Hampton received a score of 96.85 out of 100.

“The district is honored to have once again been recognized for the continued excellence of our high school students, faculty and staff,” Superintendent Michael Loughead said.

The 2022 edition of the assessment looked at 17,843 high schools across the United States, including the majority of the nation’s public high schools and some publicly supported charter and magnet schools.

Graduation rates and college readiness are key metrics in the U.S. News’ rankings, which are based on several weighted factors, including state assessment and college placement scores, underserved student performance, graduation rates and college curriculum breadth.
