Woman pinned between store and vehicle in Pittsburgh's South Side
A woman is recovering after being pinned pinned between a vehicle and a building in connection with a crash in Pittsburgh’s South Side on Wednesday afternoon.
Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson Emily Bourne said detectives were investigating a robbery at a convenience store along the 2400 block of East Carson Street around 3:40 p.m. when they felt the building shake and heard glass breaking.
When they went outside, they discovered an woman who was pinned between the store and the vehicle.
Bourne said she was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Oakland with in stable condition with a leg injury.
A woman driving the vehicle stayed on scene. According to Bourne, detectives found she did not have a valid driver’s license and took her into custody.
Her name and possible charge were not released.
As far as the robbery, a man reportedly entered the store and demanded multiple packages of cigarettes before exiting.
Bourne said no weapons were involved and no injuries were reported.
