Fashionistas can check out the latest in affordable fall fashion from the comfort of their homes, as the annual YWCA Westmoreland County Girls in Pearls Fashion Show goes virtual.
Set for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26, the 15th annual show will feature clients, customers and friends of the YWCA modeling clothing from the YWCA Thrift Shop in downtown Greensburg, along with a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement and information on the YWCA’s childcare, racial justice, technology, health and wellness and adult education programs.
“You will enjoy previewing all of the beautiful fall clothes you can buy at our thrift shop at unbelievably low prices while learning about all of the programs that we offer,” said Y interim director Gina McGrath. “The winners of the basket raffle, 50/50 tickets and mystery envelopes will also be announced.”
Emcee will be Annie Urban, executive director of principal gifts and community engagement at Seton Hill University and former executive director of Fort Ligonier.
“Even though we are unable to gather face to face this year, the online format provides an avenue to maintain connections, support the important work of the YWCA of Westmoreland County and continue to raise awareness of the organization’s critical work to eliminate racism and empower women,” Urban said.
Upon registration, attendees will receive a link to a private web page in order to enjoy the virtual show.
“The fashion show committee has worked hard to keep the technology as simple as possible to be accessible for all our guests. It will be as easy as pushing the play button once on the event page,” said chairwoman and Y board member Carlene Williams.
“Last year was the first time I attended the fashion show, it was an amazing experience,” said show co-chair and Y member Kelly Carlson. “At the time, I was a newly appointed board member. It was an impressive and unforgettable experience.”
A ticket is $50, or $100 for the Ida B. Wells Warrior VIP Ticket. Tickets include a $25 gift certificate for Rizzo’s Malabar Inn in Crabtree.
