Yellow Bridge Brewing in Delmont plans new Greensburg taproom
Craft beer fans soon will have a new option for wetting their whistles in downtown Greensburg.
Yellow Bridge Brewing Co. of Delmont is working on a taproom at 33 E. Pittsburgh St., next door to Sittay’s Mediterranean Kitchen.
While the opening date is not set, it probably will be early this summer, according to owner Ian Staab.
“It will have a very clean, industrial look with exposed steel beams and a concrete floor,” Staab said. “Then we’ll soften it up with some wood finishes and other decor.”
The space will feature seating for about 90, including a 20-seat bar, behind which will be 16 taps.
The interior was designed by Lee Calisti Architecture+Design in Greensburg.
A limited menu will offer pizza, charcuterie and salads, echoing the menu of the kitchen recently opened at the original Yellow Bridge location at 2266 Route 66.
“I always intended to expand more in Westmoreland County, but covid slowed our progress,” said Staab, who opened Yellow Bridge in 2016. “I actually looked at the (Greensburg) space over two years ago, but the timing wasn’t right.”
At this point, Staab isn’t planning an inaugural brew for the taproom opening.
“That’s not in the pipeline right now,” he said. “We’ll take a few months to sort that out.”
Yellow Bridge does have a new lager coming this week, though.
“We’re releasing an Easter stout called Midnight Peep Show,” he said. It’s a full-bodied imperial stout with notes of that popular, multicolored marshmallow Easter candy implied in the name.
Staab is seeking to hire staff for both front of house and kitchen of the new taproom. Information can be obtained by emailing ian@yellowbridgebrewing.com.
