Greensburg Restaurant Week is set for Jan. 25-31. Here, owner Lisa Hegedus prepares a plate for customer Bob Pore in 2019 at Caffe Barista in downtown Greensburg, one of the participating eateries.

This time around, you won’t have to wait until dinner to enjoy a Greensburg Restaurant Week deal.

For the first time, there will be breakfast and lunch options, courtesy of first-time participants Yumzio Bistro and South Greensburg Restaurant.

Olives and Peppers at the Greensburg Train Station is the third new entry, said Ashley Kertes, executive director of Greensburg Community Development Corp., which organizes the semiannual event.

The three eateries are among 19 offering special dining options beginning Monday and running through Jan. 31.

Typically, restaurants have featured three-course, dine-in meals topping out at $35 per person, Kertes said. Because of the current 50% restaurant capacity limit, that has been modified to include takeout and delivery options.

“We’ve left it up to the owners. Most are doing the three-course meals and some have family meals,” she said. “It just has to be $35 or less per person.”

“We’re fortunate that we’re in a community that does this, especially right now,” said Dan Czerpak, owner of Pit Take BBQ. “It gives us the opportunity to stretch our culinary legs a little.

“Hopefully, we get a lot of new folks in, to show them what we can do.”

Kertes said that diners are encouraged to make reservations because of seating capacity limits. Some restaurants will require reservations for the special meals.

Diners also can register to win a $50 gift card good at one of the featured restaurants.
