Coronavirus concerns have prompted the Westmoreland Museum of American Art to close its doors to the public beginning Saturday and continuing through the end of March.

The decision was triggered by Gov. Wolf’s order on Friday closing all Pennsylvania schools for 10 business days.

“We believe this decision is in the best interest of the health and well-being of our staff and community to combat the spread” of the virus, officials at the Greensburg museum said in a statement. “Administrative staff have been highly encouraged to work remotely and practice social distancing when in the office.”

Museum staff said they will continue to monitor official guidance on the coronavirus pandemic and will reassess the duration of the closure, if needed.
