Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Art

• The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley will sponsor a painting workshop with artist Rita Haldeman from 1 to 4 p.m. July 1 at the museum, 1 Boucher Lane, Ligonier Township. Health

• Non-profit Faith & Gratitude will host a free cancer wellness event from 10 a.m. to noon June 18 at the Westmoreland Museum of Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg. Attendees will create harmony within their cells as they participate in a guided imagery meditation while listening to a healing quartz sound bath of beautiful music. Bring a yoga mat and blanket and dress comfortably. Reservations required. Reservations: faithandgratitude.org.

Fundraisers

• A yard sale will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 17 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 at Paradise United Methodist Church, 105 Hoke Road, Bullskin Township. Food will be available.

• Unity Township American Legion will host a free car cruise from 2 to 6 p.m. June 18 at the post, 158 American Legion Road. The band East Coast Turnaround will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. in the outdoor venue and the kitchen will be open. Tickets for the band concert are $10. Tickets: 724-423-9284 or 724-237-6968. Proceeds will benefit the local veterans charities of the Sons of the American Legion.

• Friends of Caldwell Memorial Library will have their annual used book sale and basket raffle from 4 to 8 p.m. June 20, 22 and 23 at the library, 982 N. Chestnut St. Ext., Derry. A preview sale will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18. Admission is $5. A $5 bag sale and basket raffle drawings will be June 25.

• St. Cecilia Church will have a burger bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 at the church pavilion, 220 St. Cecilia Road, Unity Township. Menu: hamburgers with or without cheese or grilled onions; fries and non-alcoholic beverages. Dine in or takeout. Details: 724-423-3777.

• A community yard sale will begin at 9 a.m. June 18 in Bolivar. Vendor tables, refreshments and restrooms will be available at the firehall, 519 Market St. Tables at the firehall are available for $5 each. Table rental: Heidi Speidel, 724-676-4714.

• The board of West Newton Community Swimming Pool will sell takeout stuffed pork chop dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. June 25 at Gary’s Chuckwagon Restaurant, 109 S. Second St., West Newton. Cost: $15. Tickets: stop in at the restaurant. Proceeds will be used for pool operations.

Meetings

• Golden Dome Knitting will meet at 7 p.m. June 16 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg. The program will be, “Stretchy Bind Offs.” Guests and new members welcome. Details: 724-836-6323.
