Church News

• Christian Life Church, Trafford, will feature acoustic artists Chandler and Maria Letner at a worship service at 7 p.m. June 11 at the church, 900 Seventh St. A Youth Sunday worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. June 12.

• First Church of God, 157 N. Second St., West Newton, will have vacation Bible school, “Food Truck Party,” June 12 to 16 for children age 3 through adults. Reservations: 724-872-7467.

• Christian Life Church, Trafford, will host vacation Bible school, “Zoomerang,” from 6 to 8 p.m. June 20 to 24 at the church, 900 Seventh St., for children in prekindergarten through sixth grade. • Charter Oak Church, 100 S. Second St., Jeannette, will sponsor vacation Bible school, “Make Waves,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 27 to 30 at Altman Park, Jeannette, for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Reservations required. Reservations: 724-527-3639 or charteroak.church/vbs.

• The Caring Closet at Greensburg Church of the Brethren, 554 Stanton St., is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays. Free food, clothing, shoes and more available. Canned and nonperishable food donations are welcome. Call the church to arrange for pickup. Details: 724-834-2130.

Fundraisers

• A flea market and bake sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 11 in the fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, 501 Fayette St. A presale with a $5 admission fee will be from 4 to 8 p.m. June 10. Details: 724-929-5100.

• Community Church of Hecla, 537 Hecla Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a turkey dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. June 11 at the church. Dine-in or takeout. Details and takeout orders: 724-396-8065 or 724-244-2586.

• A strawberry festival will be from 4 to 7 p.m. June 11 in the fellowship hall at New Hope Church, 12727 Lincoln Way, North Huntingdon. Menu: strawberry sundaes, hot dogs and salad. Proceeds will benefit mission and outreach programs.

• The 21st annual Youngwood community yard sale will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11 in the borough. Food and flea market items will be sold at Christ United Methodist, St. Luke Lutheran and Holy Ascension Serbian churches.

• Greensburg Coin Club will hold a coin show from 9 a.m. to noon June 12 at Circleville Firehall, 129 Robbins Station Road, North Huntingdon.

Library news

• Norwin Public Library, 100 Caruthers Lane, Irwin, will host a program about the 1918 flu pandemic at 6:30 p.m. June 14 at the library. Westmoreland County Community College professor Tom Soltis will be the speaker. Reservations required. Reservations: 724-863-4700, ext. 3.

Meetings

• The Braddock Trail chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at noon June 11 at the chapter house, 200 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant, for the annual picnic. Members should bring a covered dish to share. Officers will be installed.

• Level Green Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. June 16 at the Level Green Lions Community Building, 123 Murrysville Road, Penn Township. Lunch menu: fish sandwich with a side dish.
