Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking should be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks prior to the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Fundraisers

• An Oktoberfest dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at First United Church of Christ, 400 Main St., Irwin. Cost: $12; children, $6. Advance tickets recommended; limited tickets will be available at the door. Tickets: 724-863-0430.

• St. Cecilia Church will have the last burger bash of the season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at the church pavilion, 220 St. Cecilia Road, Whitney, Unity. Menu: hamburgers with or without cheese, fries and soft drinks. Dine in or takeout. Details: 724-423-3777.

• The Disciples’ Hands Ministry at Greensburg Church of the Brethren will host a spaghetti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at the church, 554 Stanton St., Greensburg. Menu: spaghetti, salad, roll, beverage and dessert, $10. Dine in or takeout.

• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board; $1 for quickies. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.

• A holiday craft and vendor show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 21 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 306 St. John Drive, Latrobe. Free admission, food, a basket raffle and 50-50. Accessible venue.

• Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo at 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Food will be available. Details: 724-523-9244.

• The Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host a fall card party Oct. 26 in the church Mack Hall, 200 Leger Road, North Huntingdon. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost: $15, includes a salad and dessert bar, cards, board games and silent bingo. There will be door prizes, a basket auction and share the wealth. • A pancake breakfast will be from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Greensburg Masons, 349 Donohoe Road, hempfield. Menu: pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, coffee and juice. Cost: $10; age 5 to 11, $5.

• Women of Westmoreland will host a fashion show from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Venue at Live Casino Pittsburgh at Westmoreland Mall, Route 30, Hempfield. Cost: $45 for future members; $39 for members; includes appetizers, dinner, dessert and the fashion show. There will be a cash bar and shopping featuring local boutiques. Donations of formal wear and accessories for Angela’s Angels and professional business accessories for WIN Resource Center will be accepted. Halloween Activities

• Level Green Presbyterian Church, 105 Olive Drive, Penn Township, will sponsor a free community trunk-or-treat and fall story walk from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at the church. Children and their families are welcome to dress up in non-scary or violent costumes. Pizza, cookies and fall refreshments will be served. Rain date: Oct. 29. Details: 412-372-5370.

• A free seminar “Grief During the Holidays,” will be offered at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at Rizzo’s Reception Hall and Banquet Facility, 126 Rizzo Road, Crabtree. • Career Kick-start, a free one-day workshop to help you boost your job search, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Murrysville Community Center, 3091 Carson Ave. Participants will meet with a career coach, take a career assessment, identify skills and strengths, learn how to find and apply for jobs, practice interviews and more.
