Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking can be emailed to Carol Pinto-Smith at cpinto-smith@triblive.com or mailed to Briefly Speaking, 210 Wood St., Tarentum, PA 15084. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Fundraisers

• Greensburg Art Center will have a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 in the center parking lot, 230 Todd School Road. Items will include art supplies, toys and more.

• The Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward program of Westmoreland, Indiana and Armstrong counties is accepting orders for its annual native tree and shrub sale. A limited supply of 28 different native trees and shrubs is available. For a list and planting requirements, visit the tree/shrub catalog tab at tinyurl.com/MWS-2022TreeSale. Order deadline is Aug. 31. Pickup will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 14.

• West Newton Public Library will host a tea from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at Le Grande Banquet Room, 105 S. Second St., West Newton. Doors open at noon. Admission: $20. Tickets: 724-633-0798, or at Gary’s Chuckwagon Restaurant or the library.

Meeting

• Mt. Pleasant American Legion Auxiliary will have its Appreciation Dinner Sept. 6. Reservations and cancellations are required by 5 p.m. Aug. 30. Call Kelly M. or Sam B.

Reunion

• Hempfield High School Class of 1971 will have a reunion from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 27 at Ferrante’s Lakeview. Reservations: Susan, 724-834-4590.
