Westmoreland happenings: Tour of Ireland, Christmas Eve services

Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking can be emailed to Carol Pinto-Smith at cpinto-smith@triblive.com or mailed to Briefly Speaking, 210 Wood St., Tarentum, PA 15084. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Church news

• Living Word Congregational Church, Penn Township, will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2003 Ridge Road. Details: 724-523-5421, ext. 113. churchaccount@livingword church.info.

• West Newton First Church of God, 157 N. Second St., will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. with the ordinance of Communion at the church. The regular Sunday service will be at 10:30 a.m.

• Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1120 Harvey Ave., Greensburg, will have a Lessons and Carols Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Fundraiser

• Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a nine-day tour of Ireland April 17 to 26. Cost: $2,819, includes flights, lodging, daily breakfasts, entrance fees to sites and transportation. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the chamber of commerce. Registration deadline is Jan. 15.
