Art

• The Westmoreland Museum of Art, Greensburg will present Art In Bloom March 21 to 24 at the museum, 221 N. Main St. The exhibit will feature floral compositions by local florists and designers who were inspired by works of art from the museum’s collection. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 21, 23 and 24 and 10 to 8 p.m. March 22. Special events are scheduled each day. Details: thewestmoreland.org.

Business Workshops

• Mt. Pleasant Business District Authority will host a workshop “ID Theft, Frauds and Scams” from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. March 25 at the authority office, 445 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, for business owners and community members. The seminar will be an overview of the most popular scams, frauds and theft schemes used to steal personal, secured account and credit card information. Church News

• Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 140 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg, will host a Lenten luncheon and worship service Thursdays through March 28 at the church. The service begins at 12:05 p.m. and the luncheon is afterward in the social room. Luncheon cost: $5.

Fundraisers

• The Christian Mothers & Ladies of Seven Dolors Parish, Yukon, will host a Spring Souper event from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 17 in the church social hall, 102 Center St. Cost: $10; younger than age 10, $5, includes a choice of soups, sandwiches and desserts. There will be a basket raffle and 50-50.

• A pancake and waffle breakfast will be from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 16 at the Greensburg Masonic Center, 349 Donohoe Road, Hempfield. Menu: pancakes, waffles, sausage, strawberries, blueberries, fruit cocktail, coffee and juice. Cost: $10; children 5 to 11, $5. Proceeds will benefit the lodge.

• A fundraiser to benefit Mon Valley Paws will be from 5 p.m. to closing March 18 at Foster House II, 1 Cook Road, Washington Township, Fayette County. A portion of sales will be donated. Bring a pet food donation to be entered into the basket auction. Dine in or takeout. Orders: 724-929-7679.

• Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo at 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Smoke-free venue. Food will be available and there will be a 50-50 and instant bingos. • A fashion show “The Art of Fashion” to benefit the Latrobe Art Center will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 at Latrobe Country Club, 346 Arnold Palmer Drive, Unity. • The 23nd annual Westmoreland County March for Parks event will be March 23 at Twin Lakes Park, east of Greensburg. Check-in will begin at 10 a.m. at the park nature center. Walkers will turn in donations and contributions. Those who turn in at least $30 will earn an event T-shirt. There will be a barbeque pig roast lunch, basket raffle, music and entertainment. • Mt. Pleasant Township Lions Club and Norvelt Volunteer Fire Department will have an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 17 at Roosevelt Hall, 2325 Mt. Pleasant Road, Mt. Pleasant Township. Menu: pancakes, Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, sausage and breakfast beverages, $7; ages 6 to 12, $3; younger than age 6, free.

• A spaghetti dinner will be from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 17 in the fellowship hall at Level Green Presbyterian Church, 105 Olive Drive, Trafford. Dine in or takeout. Menu: spaghetti, meatballs, salad, Italian bread and dessert, $10; age 3 to 10, $4; age 2 and younger, free. Tickets: at the church office or at the door.

• St. James Lutheran Church, 4329 Route 982, Youngstown, will sponsor a takeout soup sale 11 a.m. until sold out March 16 at the church. A variety of soups will be available. Cost: $8 per quart; limit eight quarts per order.

Health

• Sage’s Army Recovery Center, 6044 Lincoln Highway, suite 400, Hempfield, will host its annual open house from 2 to 6 p.m. April 3 at the center. Meetings

• Golden Dome Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. March 21 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg. The program will be a demonstration of Tunisian crochet, which is a cross between crocheting and knitting. Music

• Jeannette Jr. Sr. High School will present a cabaret of scenes from popular musicals at 7 p.m. March 15 in the high school auditorium, 800 Florida Ave. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Admission: $5.

Senior Citizens

Special event

• A mobile event to apply for a license to carry firearms will be from noon to 7 p.m. March 14 Murrysville Municipal Building, 4100 Sardis Road. Veterans News

• A veterans service officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 20 in the office of state Rep. Jill Cooper, 105 Pfeffer Road, suite 5, Washington Township. Services available will include disability and pension claims, benefit questions, assisting spouses with survivor benefits issues and applications for veterans grants. Appointments will be accepted, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments: 724-387-9113.

• In observation of Vietnam War Veterans Day, Norwin Elks will host a free lunch for all veterans April 2 at the at the Elks Lodge, 135 Elks Lane, Manor. Space is limited. Volunteer opportunities

• Historic Hanna’s Town and the Westmoreland History Education Center are looking for volunteers. An organizational meeting will be at 2 p.m. March 16 at the center, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield. Many positions are available. Details: 724-836-1800 or westmorelandhistory.org.
