• Mother of Sorrows Parish will offer a free seminar, “Expressing Gratitude,” with Dennis C. Daley from noon to 1 p.m. Aug. 13 in the parish social hall, 4202 Old William Penn Highway. Plan to arrive by 11:30 a.m. Bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages provided.
• Living Word Congregational Church, 2003 Ridge Road, Penn Township, will have a Second Mile prayer and communion service at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday at the church.
Meetings
• South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave. The program will be about the 1715 shipwreck. There will be a 50-50 raffle and prizes for children. Public welcome. Membership applications are being accepted. Details: 724-984-6611.

• Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will celebrate Hawaiian Day Aug. 15. A program about the state will be at 11:30 a.m. Bring a Hawaiian-themed dish to share for lunch and feel free to wear Hawaiian attire. Details: 724-787-1760 or mumsest@aol.com.
