• Greensburg Church of the Brethren will host a revival “Jesus Is Coming” at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at the church, 554 Stanton St., Greensburg. Public welcome.
Fundraisers
• Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township, will serve a drive-thru dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church. Menu: chicken breast, stuffing, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce, rolls and chocolate chip cookies. Donations will be accepted. Drive around to the rear of the church.
• Visitation Church, 740 Walnut St., Mt. Pleasant, will host a cavatelli and spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the church. Menu: cavatelli or spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost: $15; 4 to 12, $7.50; 3 and younger, free.

• Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church, 4600 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville, will host a trunk-or-treat from 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 29 in the church parking lot. • Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, will host a Fall Family Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28. Members of Proctor’s Militia will be encamped and there will be hayrides, demonstrations and guided tours up to the cemeteries on the hill. Costumed children are welcome to trick-or-treat around the historic site. Cost: $10; seniors, $8; children, $6; 5 and younger and Westmoreland Historical Society members, free. Meetings
• The Botanical Society of Westmoreland County will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 in the red Conservation District barn, 218 Donohoe Road, Hempfield. There will be a short business meeting followed by a program. Guest speaker Loree Speedy will present “Stories About Forest Trees – A Bit of Natural History.” Light refreshments will be served afterward. Annual dues of $10 per individual and $15 per family are now payable. New members welcome.

• Ligonier Valley Writers announced the winners of its 18th annual Flash Fiction Contest. They are: Don Ellenberger of Stahlstown, first place; Cricket Jean Baunoch of Indiana, Pa., second place; Lord My’k Podgor of Cleveland, third place; and Barbara Parker of Radford, Va., Dana Weber and Nicole Bradley, both of Ligonier, honorable mentions. The six winning stories will be performed at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at 1942 Tacos and Tequila Restaurant, 1867 Route 30, Ligonier. The event is free and the public is welcome.
