Church News
• St. James Church, New Alexandria, will have all-day Eucharistic Adoration Aug. 15 for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Adoration will begin at 8:30 a.m., benediction will be at 6 p.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Drop in anytime during the day. Details: 724-668-2829.
Fundraisers
• St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 4480 Route 981, Trauger, Mt. Pleasant Township, will have bingo Aug. 11 at the parish center. Doors open at 4 p.m. and early birds start at 6:30 p.m. Details: 724-423-8838.
• First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, 501 Fayette St., will have its annual Peach Festival and car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 12 at the church. Details: 724-929-7616.
• Manor Lions Club will host a chicken barbeque from 11 a.m. until sellout Aug. 12 in the parking lot of Roberts Roofing, Route 993, Manor. Menu: half chicken, applesauce, roll, cookie and drink, $10. Proceeds will be donated to Make-A Wish. Details: jrare4@comcast.net.
• A flea market, book sale and bake sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 12 at Christ United Church of Christ, 1414 Ligonier St., Latrobe. There will be a basket raffle, food and beverages. A stair lift is available to access the lower level. Details: 724-537-4901.

• Pet Supplies Plus, 112 Sara Way, Belle Vernon, will host an ice cream social and bath time from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 12 to benefit Mon Valley Paws. A $10 donation will be given to Mon Valley Paws for each dog that is bathed. Donations will be accepted. Details: 724-494-8305.

• The Summer Harvest Festival at First United Church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, will be from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at the church, Main Street. There will be games, a produce sale and food.
History
• Rostraver Township Historical Society will host the Robert J. Cook Memorial Civil War Demonstration from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Cook Farm, 347 Cooks Road, Rostraver. Rain date: Aug. 19. There will be reenactors, demonstrations, a food truck and a 50/50 raffle. Gates open at 2 p.m. Bring a chair. Cost: $10; younger than 12, free.
