Westmoreland happenings: Bus trip to performance of 'Daniel'; holiday fun day

• West Newton Church of God will sponsor bus trips April 15 and May 2 to see the stage production “Daniel” at Sight & Sound Theatres near Lancaster. Cost: $180, includes bus transportation, show ticket and lunch. The bus will leave from the Christian Church parking lot in Turkeytown. Fundraisers
• Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield, will host a holiday family day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 28. There will be children’s games, a scavenger hunt and winter-themed crafts for the whole family. Cost: $10; seniors, $8; students through 12th grade, $6; Westmoreland Historical Society members and children age 5 and younger are free. Details: 724-836-1800.
Senior Citizen News
• Irwin Senior Activity Center, located in First Methodist Church, 310 Oak St., will be closed through Jan. 1. A New Year’s gala will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 2 and there will be a movie with snacks at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 3. Details: 724-787-1760 or mumsest@aol.com.
