Festival

• Cook Township Community Center will host its third annual Backyard Brewfest from 3 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10 at the center, 1714 Route 711. Must be 21. There will be food and music. Cost: $10, in advance; $15, at the gate. Tickets: tinyurl.com/mptr5dh9.

Fundraisers

• Westmoreland County Blind Association is accepting sponsorships for its third annual super bingo planned Oct. 5 at West Point Firehall, 100 Volunteer Drive, Hempfield. Details: wcbainpa.org.

• A fundraiser to benefit Mon Valley Paws will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at Trailside Restaurant, 108 W. Main St., West Newton. A portion of all purchases will be donated and there will be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle and pet supply collection. Details: 724-493-8305.

Senior Citizen News

• Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will have trivia at 10 a.m. Aug. 6. National Lighthouse Day will be observed on Aug. 7. Bring a photo of your favorite lighthouse. Details: 724-787-1760.
