Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Church news

• The 18th annual Blessing of the Bikes ceremony will be after the 10:30 a.m. Mass in the parking lot at Holy Family Catholic Church, 323 Chestnut St., Latrobe. Details: 724-539-9751 or hfpadmin@dioceseofgreensburg.org.

• Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township, will host a seminar on human trafficking at 6:30 p.m. May 19 at the church. Public welcome.

Classes

• A Seniors for Safe Driving class will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 27 at the Latrobe Center for Active Adults, 15 Avenue C. Safe drivers can receive a 5% discount on auto insurance for three years. Cost: $16. Details and registration: 724-539-0237.

Fundraisers

• Catholic Daughters of the Americas will sponsor a bingo at 6 p.m. May 19 in St. Florian Parish Hall, 4263 Route 981, Mt. Pleasant Township. A light luncheon will be served and there will be door prizes, a raffle and 50/50 drawing. Admission: $8. Details: 724-423-5454 or 724-420-1648.

• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will host bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. May 19 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board and $1 for quickies. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.

• An indoor/outdoor yard sale will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20 and 21 at Latrobe Center for Active Adults, 15 Avenue C. Details: 724-539-0237.

• Fairview Church of God will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21 at the church, 2202-2206 Route 982, Mt. Pleasant Township. Lunch and baked goods will be available.

• Latrobe Lions Club will hold a spring broom sale from 10 a.m. to noon or until sell-out May 21 in the Lincoln Road Shopping Center, 606 Cedar St., Latrobe. Cost: heavy duty, $13; long-handled whisk, $6; and traditional whisk, $5, all made by the Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh. Profits provide help for the blind and other community services.

• A community yard sale will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 21 at Community United Methodist Church parking lot, 3487 Route 130, Penn Township. Spaces available. Rain or shine. Proceeds benefit Girl Scout Troop 26664. Details: seesefamily5@gmail.com.

• A spaghetti dinner to benefit veterans in need will be from noon to 6 p.m. May 22 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 100 Billot Ave., North Huntingdon. Cost: $8; veterans, $6; 12 and younger, $4. Dine in or takeout.

Library news

• Adams Memorial Library, Latrobe, will offer a free children’s program, “Inquire Within PBS Kids: Great Outdoors: Birds,” at 6 p.m. May 23 online on the library website, YouTube and Facebook. Meeting

• Penn Township Senior Citizens will meet May 25 at Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Trafford. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 2. Lunch: $6. Dues: $2. Entertainment will be Cathi Rhodes performing as Patsy Cline. Masks optional.

Music

• A concert featuring the Irwin Male Chorus will be at 7 p.m. May 22 at Community United Presbyterian Church, 1640 Keystone Park Road, New Alexandria. Refreshments will be served.

Special events

• Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation will sponsor, “A Nature Day with Master Naturalists,” from 9:30 to 1:30 p.m. May 21 at Twin Lakes Park, east of Greensburg. Meet at the Brian T. Rusnock Amphitheater. A wildflower ID stroll and bug safari will begin at 12:15 and 12:45 p.m. Free. Reservations encouraged at co.westmoreland.pa.us/752/Events-and-programs.

• Laurelville Retreat Center, Mt. Pleasant Township, is accepting registrations for summer youth camps. Weeklong day camps for children age 5 to 12 will be available June 20 to Aug. 5. Children may attend up to two weeks. Cost: $130 per week per child. Overnight camps are available. Financial assistance information is available online.
