• The Greensburg Art Center will host a window screen painting demonstration from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 4 at the center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield.

Black History Month events

• In honor of Black History Month, the Student PSEA group at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and YWCA Westmoreland will host a free pancake breakfast and story time for children from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 10 at the YWCA, 424 N. Main St., Greensburg. Children age 3 to 9 and their families welcome. There will be book readings, free books and a craft station. Reservations required: 724-834-9390 or info@ywcawestmoreland.org.

• The Westmoreland History Education Center, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield, will launch its celebration of Black History Month with a free program “The Great Migration — A Century Later” at 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at the center. Kelton Edmonds will be the speaker. Reservations requested: 724-836-1800, ext. 210.

Fundraisers

• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 1 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. There will be 20 regular games and five full-card quickies. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board; $1 for quickies.

• Jeannette American Legion will host bingo at 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a $750 jackpot game, door prizes and 50-50. The kitchen will be open. Proceeds benefit veterans and community activities. Details: Rick, 724-600-5061.

• The Holy Name Society of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, will host an all-you-can-eat omelet breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 4 in the church social hall, Summit Street. There will also be a 50-50 raffle. Cost: $10; age 3 to 12, $3; younger than 3, free.

• A Super Bowl singles no-tap bowling tournament to benefit the Greater Latrobe High School bowling team will be Feb. 11 at Lincoln Lanes Bowling Alley, 3850 Route 30, Unity. Squad times start at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Entry fee is $30 per person and there will be scratch and handicap divisions, a basket raffle, a 50/50 at each squad and food will be sold. • Herminie Center for Active Adults will host a flea market from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 2 at the center, 101 Sewickley Ave. Free admission. Public welcome. Tables: $5. Table reservations: 724-446-3282.

• Saturday: 8 a.m., first and last Saturday of the month, TRIAD Book Club; 8 a.m., first and third Saturday, 11 a.m., Doing Grief; 2 p.m., Dual Recovery Anonymous; 7:30 p.m., AA Saturday Night Sober.

Senior Citizen News

• Irwin Senior Activity Center will celebrate Groundhog Day with trivia at noon Feb. 1 at the center in First Methodist Church, 310 Oak St. Line dancing will be at 11:30 a.m. and a movie day will be at 1 p.m., both on Feb. 7. Bring a snack to share. Details: 724-787-1760 or mumsest@aol.com.
