The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 21 new covid-19 cases and no new deaths in Westmoreland County, bringing the countywide case total to 917 and death total to 39. That includes 27 probable cases.
Probable cases are “patients who have a positive serology test and either covid-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure,” according to a statement from the department.
The number of new cases jumped by 206 since last week.
In Westmoreland County, 20,928 people have tested negative for the virus.
According to the Department of Health, there are 92,867 cases and 6,848 deaths statewide.
All of Pennsylvania is in the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan, with Westmoreland switching to green June 5.
Wolf issued a masking order for Pennsylvanians in all public spaces when social distancing cannot be maintained.
