Westmoreland County reports 31 new cases of covid-19

Westmoreland County saw 31 new cases of covid-19 added to its total Sunday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported, with no new deaths.

The county’s death toll remains at 43. There was one new death reported on Saturday.

The new cases make a total of 1,302 cases in the county since the virus was first reported there March 20. Of those cases, 1,265 are confirmed, 37 are probable.

This is the seventh day in July to report more than 30 cases of the virus. There have been 627 cases reported in July in the county.

In Westmoreland County, 27,298 people have tested negative for the virus, for a positivity rate of 4.55%.
